Upate: Spring 2007 Fashion Trends from Nordstrom

An enthusiastic group of moms braved getting babysitting or husbands home in time to view the Norstrom Spring 2007 Fashion Trends for active moms. We even had the most adorable infant girl in attendance enjoying her first fashion show. She smiled and was alert the whole time; love of fashion must start at  young age....

The spring trends include patterns & bold color, patents, romantic fabrics, architectural heels, metallics and trench coats. I can do shine and romance, but I can do without the short dresses and spacebot looks.  I was happy to see that cropped pants and jackets are back for spring. The New York Times had pictures in their Sunday Style Pulse section showing a slideshow of shirts with billowing sleeves, including a Nanette Lepore cropped jacket with three quarter bell sleeves. It seems the cropped free swinging jackets shows the most beautiful part of a women's body - her wrists. I like that trend; my wrists are the one part of my body that do not seem to gain weight. Tee shirts are back, but at dress length or with bright prints. I may need to stick to my solid waist level tees. Our own Sarah also has her thoughts on spring trends.

This photo set is a summary of the outfits shown by Deanne Martinez, a Nordstrom Personal Shopper:

This is a Flickr badge showing photos in a set called Nordstrom Spring 2007 Trend. Make your own badge here.

We were shown red patent and (Tori Burch) metallic flats, prints, hoodies and tee shirts (cherry prints are in), neutralscropped casual jackets, the skinny jeans worn by Angelina Jolie (that none of us wanted to even try on, but they were fun to look at), jeans for real women (Jag, David Kahn), night out shirts, Diane Von Furstenberg print wrap dresses, other fun print dresses and the secrets to choosing figure flattering outfits.

One of our contributors, Martha, and two attendees were given a make-over by Christina of Mac.

Another contributor, Robyn, won the raffle prize: a book called "The Science of Sexy: Dress to Fit Your Unique Figure with the Style System that Works for Every Shape and Size".

I started looking at black dresses for a Sunday evening 5pm spring school auction. Deanne showed me more casual prints. Oh well, I guess I will save the little black dresses for night events.

My love of fashion lead me to a spring Charles Grey Leopard Trench Coat.  Something every fantasy fashion contributor should have.
