We say it every year. We promise each other this year will be different. We agree that we'll start shopping early so that we can be done and just enjoy the holiday. We have good intentions, we do. I don't know who we're fooling, not us apparently. We come up short the hubs and I, every time.
Our plan of attack this year was to go the route of drawing names on both sides of the family. OK, that was a positive start, right? One name I pulled was my sister-in-law. She wanted stuff off of her wedding registry that she didn't receive. Easy! Perfect! I can do this!! The next day I hopped on line with my trusty Visa in hand and bought some things for her. Done! One person down, three to go. I was feeling good. I was on a roll. Until....I found out said sister-in-law had gone out and picked up the exact item I purchased for herself at a different store. In all fairness it was something she needed before the actual holiday, but still, shopping fail. Take two.
