As a parent, I want the best for my children. I want them to be safe, to be happy, to be secure, to be comfortable. I want to give them the best and always look out for their safety and well-being.
I want to feel that the people and companies who make the products that I use to dress, bathe, entertain, and feed my babies are looking out for them too.
But I don't. I don't feel that way at all.
I know we all remember the millions of toys that were recalled last year for lead paint. I still try to avoid buying toys made by many of the companies whose products were recalled. I just don't feel as though any proof has been given that we should no longer be concerned. I don't feel confident that toys are being inspected more frequently, more thoroughly, or more efficiently.
And now, I've learned that the clothes I have been putting on all three of my children since their respective births can cause serious chemical burns. I am at a loss.
