Kids and Sports - We want your thoughts!

Sports We seem to be beyond the competitive kid sports scene now for the most part. My 11 year old is more interested in theatre and of course that's ALL my 15 year old son does. It's musical theatre, so they get a lot of dancing and that helps keep them in shape. His twin sister was very active, and skilled in several sports, but kind of burned out on CYSA soccer a few years ago. In middle school she was on the wrestling team one year, played basketball the next but didn't do anything her first year in high school. I'm hoping she'll consider the school's softball or soccer teams in the next couple of years, I think it would be good for her. My almost 19 year old is just doing intramurals in college, but he played baseball in high school, that following Little League, Babe Ruth, etc. And that followed his earlier days "sampling" soccer and basketball, before settling in on baseball as his true love. He runs, and plays softball and basketball with his friends.  I just care that they all keep moving, one way or another.

The reason I bring this up is because the Wall Street Journal is working on a story about kid's sports and would like to get our input.

Here are the two questions the reporter is posing:

Do you worry about whether to keep your kids in sports such as soccer, competitive swimming or Little League, or allow them to drop out?

or

Do you ever worry that your kids are under too much pressure in games or competitions, and that they may be at the risk of burning out?

Answer either or both in the comments, and I'll pass them along.  The reporter's deadline is this coming Monday the 29th and the column is set to run on August 9th.
