Silicon Valley Moms Blog Mommy Blog Carnival

Summer2 It is Tuesday July 18, 2006.  We are thrilled to be hosting our first Sizzling Summer Blog Carnival.  Get off your lounge chair, pick up a margarita and take a stroll through these great posts we received from around the globe.  No sunscreen required!

  • Crib Ceiling created a post all about her favorite summer memories over the past years, including her two year old telling mommy that a summer chill was "refreshing!"  Where do they get these terms at such a young age?
  • See Dawn Laugh!  See Dawn Cry!  Hear Dawn share a summer tale during the winter months.
  • Join Sweetney and her family on their Delaware Beach vacation where she shares some family beach antics while her children create and build a not so typical sandcastle.
  • We just LOVED this post from Friday Playdate about their family "enjoying" a summer day STUCK AT THE AIRPORT with massive delays - and of course traveling with her children, running around the airports trying to find new flights, one child complaining about a "wedgie" and purchasing expensive beer, just to get to Florida.
  • Tekla from our very own Silicon Valley Moms Blog rants about the woes of working moms during the summer months.  SAHM's, be aware of what your fellow working moms go through while you are "relaxing" by the pool - HAH
  • This Full House has been sharing her days over the summer vacation.  Take a peak how this  WAHM mother of four has been spending her "crazy, hazy and rarely lazy days through the summer".
  • "How Hot Is It" you may ask?  Spot On tells us that living in Valencia, Spain "My oh my oh my, it’s hot, hot, hot here. And it’s not even August yet."
  • Thrifty Mommy shares the simple pleasures of summer joy with her daughter.  "Hang out with cool thrifty mommy who's frugal with time and money".
  • Ana from Silicon Valley Moms Blog gives us some history of suviving the pool with twins and toddler through the years.  Does is ever get easier to prepare and manage? ..... while not exposing her breasts at the pool?
  • Blogging from summer vacation in Bulgaria, Babylune writes about the guilt of leaving her kids for a few moments to sit in an internet cafe, listen to techno music and sharing her grief about losing Baba Nadka.
  • Dah Gurl tells us about the joys of a family bed while on a summer vacation.  She "shares her parenting experiences through the eyes of a modern day sistah who has excepted her issues, good and bad, and wants to take you on the journey of saying YES! to life".
  • Follow My Name Is Mommy as she moves from quarantine (kids with chicken pox) to having them look like smurfs!  Of course, this is happening just as the grandparents are about to arrive for a visit!
  • Take a deep breath, go with the flow and join this "balanced mommy" as she ends her month with a long yoga hiatus.
  • Her Grace writes a touching note to her fifteen month old daughter "Party Girl", while ending the day at "a park with a shallow creek just right for wading......."
  • Trying to find Bambi and Thumper in the woods of her own backyard, Stay At Home Mom  shares her day hiking with the family while fighting off the mosquitoes!
  • Summer Movies Anyone?  Glennia from the Silient I shares with us a 'movie experience' starring her brother!  Well, starring her brother for two seconds - and oh yeah, he is a cartoon!
  • Mommy verse Waterbug.  Finslippy mom finds a waterbug in her son Henry's room and completely freaks out, attacks waterbug and saves the creature in a cup for her husband to bury.
  • Ok, now this one is going to make you all super jealous!  Crazed Parent was pulled up on stage, along with her son at the Rick Springfield Concert.  Yes, you are reading this righ!  At a Rick Springfield Concert, Charlene was brought up on stage to sing along with this hunky, dreamy, super delicious General Hospital Doctor - Rock Star.  Don't you just wish you were Charlene?
  • Although this one did not mention her experiences of "summer", we thought that we would push this one through since it is hysterical and bashes June Cleaver, the oh so perfect mother.  Check out Leap Of Faith and her many postings about her first year of motherhood.
  • Here is a summer snapshot from Meredith O'Brien who writes for a parenting blog in the Boston Herald's web site. Come sneak a peek and see a new version of I spy called "I spy an angry mommy".
