I'm a Cultivated Demographic -- And so can you!
Yesterday morning I went to a lovely breakfast in the chic W Hotel at Union Square. I drank expertly brewed coffee, was tempted by (and succumbed to) a beautiful bite-sized pain au raisin that rivaled any I had had in Paris, and devoured a bowl of perfectly plain yogurt (no tacky sugar-filled flavors here) topped with perfectly ripe raspberries, blackberries, and strawberries. (Whose provenance, given the time of year, I'd rather not know.) I chatted with the fellow attendees, and settled in for what was essentially a live commercial for Staples. With them pushing their hottest products to us - the assembled bloggers, so we could assert our impressive influence on our vast readership.
Ha.
Let me first say, that those of use who attended are in no way whatsoever required to write about Staples, the Office Department Store, or even to discuss the many products highlighted at the breakfast and available for purchase at your local Staples store or online at Staples.com. They just fed me, spoke to me like an adult who mattered, and sent me on my way with a (limited edition) Easy Button and a (Staples) gift card.
They had me at pain au raisin. I was completely seduced.
