This mama {hearts} Dan's Papers
The sun is shining, and the temps are rising. This is when I make my b-line for Dan’s Papers. The season is starting early in the Hamptons this year, or at least it feels like things are getting an early start. As the NY Times reported last week, things are a-buzz on the Island, with everyone getting homes and businesses ready for the impending masses.
Growing up, I spent every summer, and most weekends out by the Moriches Bay. (Crabbing, swimming, hanging out on the hammock, it was awesome!). It was my job to grab the copy of Dan’s Papers when we did our shopping. How thrilled am I that they are still publishing now that I've got my own Long Island ducklings?? Totally!
Every week, you are guaranteed an interesting peek into the Hamptons life-style. Definitely skewed to the moneyed, but there is something for everyone as they share honest reviews and thorough lists of things to do while you are out and about.
For those of you eager to plan out your Hampton getaways before you hop on the Jitney, do check them out online at danshamptons.com. They even have a blog! The blog feels a bit random side-by-side with the print edition since it has such a different voice, but still cool to see they are moving with the times.
I’m curious, if you summer in the Hamptons, do you have any advice on where to go, and what to do with kids? (Mine are 2.5, 7, and 9). What are your favorite sources for things-to-do? Share your tips in the comments below, and I’ll happily check ‘em out!
And if you, like me, are a fan of Dan Rattiner’s, you’ll want to pre-order his memoir which is set to come out next week, and will certainly make for good beach reading.

the hottest thing to hit the hamptons is a new social network that is focused on the east end and based out of the hamptons (by 2 mommies) - it's growing at an unbelievable pace(only 2 weeks old) and is THE place to find out all the "dirt" in the hamptons.
