DC Metro Moms are Racing for the Cure
If there is one thing I have learned about mommy-bloggers, its that they're always willing to help another mother out, however possible.
If there is a second thing I have learned about mommy-bloggers, its that they love any chance to have a celebration!
DC Metro Moms are no exception.
And so, to prove the first point, we are joining together to walk, run, and push strollers in the Susan G. Komen National Race for the Cure.
And to prove the second point, we're going out for breakfast afterwards to celebrate!
The National Race for the Cure will take place on the morning of June 7th at the National Mall. Quite a few of our resident Moms will be there (11 at last count!), probably in matching t-shirts, probably blogging in our heads as we walk along, and definitely happy to be out there in support of a good cause.
Its a 5K race, open to runners and walkers (I will be in the latter group, since I will be 8-months pregnant the day of the race!). There will be thousands and thousands of participants and a sea of pink in honor and in memory of those with breast cancer.
Having walked in the Maryland Race for the Cure last year, I know already that the event will be inspirational. And I think that walking as part of a team alongside the other great DC Metro Moms will make it that much more amazing.
If anyone is interested in joining the DC Metro Moms team as we walk in the Race for the Cure, or if you would like to donate to this worthy cause, check out our team webpage!

I have a post on this same topic up at jodifur, as well as just put a post about this in the DCMM que.
Go us, walking!

Whoo-hoo! I'm coming, and I'm walking!

I'm racing for the cure, walking with my dear new friends, praying for continued good health for WhyMommy and all of us...and OK, I'll admit it, racing towards some French toast and bacon after the finish line.
