On Kid Nation On The Kane Show

This morning I called into my favorite morning show, HOT 99.5's The Kane Show, when Kane asked listeners if they liked the show Kid Nation that aired earlier this week on CBS.

**The following conversation is being recounted at the best of my spastic "holy crap I'm on the radio" ability**

Ph2007092000353 Hi Kim! You're on the air with the Kane Show. How are you today?

Hey there! I'm great. How are you?

Good, good. What did you think of Kid Nation? You liked it?

Yes. I thought it was a great show. I watched it with my 8 & 12 year old daughters and we all really enjoyed it. I was impressed by how the kids handled the situation and also at some of their vocabularies. I think that watching it with your kids makes it much more entertaining because you can really identify - especially if you have a child that age. If I didn't have children, it probably would have been somewhat boring to me.

So you think that's the key? You have to have kids to like the show?

I think it makes a big difference, yes. Like when that sweet 8 year old boy wanted to go home at the

end, I kept thinking that he was just like my daughter. She wouldn't have been able to handle it either.

So, Kim, would you let your daughter go on a show like Kid Nation?

Not my 8 year old, no. But my 12 year old, maybe.

Hold on. No way. You would let your kid go on a show like that?

Well, I would have to be sure it was safe and they (the child) would really have to convince me that it was something they wanted to do. It depends on the child.

Eeeeeh. I don't agree. Thanks for calling Kim!

Kane is a happy newlywed and a hilarious DJ but not yet a father. I thought it was interesting that he was against letting a child of his own go an a reality show. I'm not positive what I would do but I'm pretty sure that my 12 year old could convince me. Again, it really depends on the kid.

What do you think? Would you let your child be on a show like Kid Nation?
