Take Me Away
I don't get to watch television much - except for in the wee hours of the morning - and thanks to the TiVo like feature of our Direct TV, I don't have to watch commercials. I remember when we didn't have such luxuries there was a commercial for Calgon where a woman would exclaim, "Calgon, take me away!" Right now I need some Calgon; I need a truckload of the stuff because I'm hoping that it will take away all the stress that I am feeling right now.
Stress? What stress? How is it you can be a parent and NOT have stress? I suppose it is all in the way that you manage (or not manage) it. I'm extremely stressed, but I see a light at the end of the tunnel. The move to the permanent house was smoother than the last move thanks in huge part to the fact that David hired movers. Yeah the Internet service transition was a little bumpy, but it was to be expected.
The question I have is this: how do YOU decompress and how long does it last for you? I was watching Tracey Ulman on television years before I had children and she said that being a stay at home parent was like having a "drunken midget" shadowing you. Those were her words, not mine so please don't tell me that I used in politically INcorrect word. Still, I have to agree with her. Right now I'm juggling a screaming 2 year old, a hyper 3 year old, and a conference call/net meeting. Bahhhh! Calgon take me away!
